There are a lot of interesting places in Berlin. We have a few classics that you need to see and quite a large list of places just discovered. Among the mandatory points, there is definitely the Bundestag. Today, a few words about this place and the possibilities of visiting it.
Berlin is one of the trendiest cities in Europe. There is a lot going on, and the number of cultural attractions is huge. It is only 6 hours from Kielce, and prices in the German capital are not frightening.
The Bundestag – the German parliament has its headquarters in the former Reichstag building (Reichstag parliament). The building was built in the 19th century, but at the end of the 20th century it changed. Then a glass dome was added to it, which reaches a height of 47 meters.
Location
The Bundestag is located in the city center, near the Brandenburg Gate. You can get there by bus number 100 or by metro (U55). The address is Platz der Republik 1.
Sightseeing
It is worth spending about an hour to explore. The entrance to the building is from Scheidemannstraße. It is worth to appear a few minutes before the set time because the safety control takes a moment. Remember that the Bundestag has rules similar to those at the airport. All metal, sharp and dangerous items will be deposited. During the tour, we can use the audioguide (available in German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Turkish or Dutch).
The possibility of sightseeing depends on several factors, including political events, weather or security issues. The entrance to the roof is also available for wheelchairs and disabled.
Prices
Visiting the Bundestag is free, but pre-registration is required. You can take a chance with registration on the spot, but there is a risk that you will not be able to get on the same day. The dome and roof are open daily from 8.00 to 24.00 (last entry at 21.45), and the entrances take place every fifteen minutes.
You can register via the internet and you need your personal data (name, surname and date of birth). In the form, we choose whether we want to visit the parliament or just go to the roof and the dome. We give there the date and time.
